ZOO Habitats

Publication of First Semester Projects 2009

“Zoo Habitats Explorations in Designing Animal Shelters” is a catalogue that records and celebrates the joyful work of students from their very first semester of studying architecture.

Each student picked an animal at the Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna to design and invent a new type of enclosure that would improve the environment for the animals and the visitors experience. It is the second time we have done this type of animal project at the academy and it proves to be a timeless exercises.

(See project winter semester 2009 for the original zoo brief and more on the individual projects.)
